This position is responsible for delivering portfolio, credit, operational, and performance analytics that support the risk management oversight across the commercial finance businesses. The role develops reporting that monitors portfolio health, identifies trends, risks and opportunities. Working alongside the Group Manager – Commercial Finance, Corporate Risk, the analyst provides data-driven insights that help balance prudent risk management with sustainable business growth.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop, analyze, and maintain portfolio, credit and operational performance reporting that ensures proper risk mitigation while ensuring business operates efficiently through monitoring of KPIs.
- Prepare ad hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate risk insights and portfolio performance to management.
- Validate the accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and delivered in a timely manner to management.
- Parter with the Risk Analyst III – Commercial Finance in analyzing data to assess progress towards business objectives, identify performance gaps, evaluate the effectiveness of existing metrics and provide insights that supports enhancements to KPIs, business processes, and operational efficiencies/controls.
- Collaborate with Credit/Risk, Operations, and Business Development teams to develop a thorough understanding of departmental roles, responsibilities, systems, processes, and KPIs.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing, validating, and providing documentation/data in an accurate and timely manner.
- Support the ongoing review of internal policies, procedures, authority matrices, and controls to help ensure operational efficiency while maintaining proper risk management.
- Support the maintenance of legal documentation to ensure documentation is current, complete, and accurate.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business-related field
- 3+ years of commercial finance experience, preferably in wholesale/inventory finance and/or commercial leasing.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work as needed to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of credit policies, financing statements, and risk frameworks
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral & written
- High attention to detail and adaptability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Commercial finance operational and/or credit/underwriting experience a plus
- Experience with legal documentation related to commercial finance a plus
- SAP experience a plus
