Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral or social science (social welfare, sociology, psychology, counseling and guidance, social work, etc.). Must have a working knowledge of trauma and its impact on youth. Must be trained in (or willing to be trained in) Restorative Practices.
Basic Function: Delivery of direct services to clients and also necessary indirect services for program development.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Responsible to provide direct restorative conversations with referred students at school.
2. Responsible for providing re-entry conversations with student, parent, and climate and culture specialists.
3. Responsible for running and/or supervising peace circles within the school.
4. Responsible for promoting Trauma Sensitive / Restorative Justice Practices; acting as a liaison and an ambassador for the program by promoting the program principles;
5. Responsible for preparing case notes and written reports as required. Responsible for documenting all client services.
6. Responsible for attending all mandatory in-services, trainings and staff meetings.
7. Responsible to work in collaborative team efforts with other local agencies, schools, Lake County Probation and the Department of Children and Family Services.
8. Present to outside agencies and community groups as needed/directed.
9. Responsible to assume other tasks as assigned.
Accountability: The RJ Facilitator reports to the Program coordinator.
