Resident Companion

RiverMead Health Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Per Diem Resident Companion to accompany residents to off-site medical appointments. This role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, organized, and committed to providing respectful, supportive assistance while ensuring residents’ comfort and safety during outings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide companionship to RiverMead Health Center residents during off-site appointments as assigned by the Health Center Administrator or designee
• Escort residents using the RiverMead van or other transportation arranged by RiverMead, the resident, or the resident’s family
• Assist residents with outer garments (e.g., coats, hats) and provide general non-medical support as needed
• Assume responsibility for the receipt, transport, and delivery of required forms and records
• Adhere to established wheelchair safety and/or non-lift protocols and training
• Communicate and relay all pertinent information from appointments to the Health Center nursing staff in a timely manner

Qualifications

• CPR certification required
• Ability to remain calm and composed in dynamic or unexpected situations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain confidentiality
