Corporate Research – Research and Technology Center Asia Pacific is a team of international & interdisciplinary scientists, driving cutting edge research to leverage on Asia’s excellent expertise. Work scope includes:               

  • Advanced Technology Research: Conduct fundamental research and pre-development of emerging technologies related to vehicle dynamics and energy management.
  • System Design & Modeling: Develop high-fidelity physical models and simulation environments for chassis and powertrain components.
  • International Cooperation: Work closely with corporate research hub in Renningen, Germany on project activities and competence development.

Main responsibility includes:               

  • Develop and maintain vehicle dynamics models covering longitudinal, lateral, and vertical behavior
  • Design and optimize energy management strategies (EMS) and thermal management strategy (TMS) for EVs and hybrid vehicles, including power distribution, regenerative braking, and efficiency optimization
  • Utilize tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CarMaker, Amesim or dSPACE to simulate component behavior and optimize system performance under various driving conditions.
  • Analyze simulation, test bench, and vehicle test data to identify performance gaps and drive improvements
  • Collaborate closely with global teams in chassis, powertrain, thermal system, software, testing, and production
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in vehicle dynamics and energy optimization
  • Pursue technology excellence by contributing brilliant ideas to new product concepts including patent filing.
  • Support project activities to transfer deliverables to business units successfully.

 

    Qualifications include:               

    • PhD degree or Master degree with ≥ 3 years working experiences in discipline of Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Work experience in an industrial R&D center or academic research focused on vehicle systems and components.
    • Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and strong experience with modeling and simulation tools.
    • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written) is necessary.
    • International education and experience are a plus.
    • Efficient, goal-oriented, structured working style, experienced in project work.
    • Strong documentation and writing skills.
    • Passionate for innovation, open to work in an international environment.
