Position Purpose:
The Research Project Director provides strategic and scientific leadership for a portfolio of community-engaged, externally funded research focused on advancing health through improved nutrition and physical activity across the lifespan, with an emphasis on reducing health disparities.
Working in close collaboration with faculty leadership within the Center for Health Promotion and Health Equity (CHPHE) at Brown University’s School of Public Health, the Director oversees the design, implementation, and dissemination of research and evaluation studies spanning school-, community-, and home-based settings. The role integrates program leadership with scientific contribution, including guiding research priorities, supporting advanced analytics and dissemination, and leading efforts to secure sustainable funding.
The Director plays a central role in building partnerships with community organizations, health systems, and policymakers to ensure that research is policy-relevant and aligned with CHPHE’s mission to promote equitable health outcomes.
This position is hybrid eligible.

This is a fixed-term position with a current end date of 6/30/2028, which may be extended based upon available funding.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
PhD in related field with minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., MS with 10 years of experience).
