Job description

Nanyang Technological University’s National Centre for Research in Digital Trust (DTC) is a Trust Technology Research Centre to execute a national program to help put Singapore into a strong trust hub. The key objective is to support efforts to create a trusted digital environment for people and businesses in the digital transformation by providing businesses and consumers with greater assurance and confidence as they digitalize. 

The successful applicant is expected to be involved in research and development on Trust Technology including topics such as Trustworthy computation, Trustworthy AI Assurance and Insurance, Quantum Trust, Privacy-preserving Machine Learning, Privacy-preserving Multi-party Computation, Verifiable Computation, Trustworthy Systems, Adversarial Machine Learning, Assessing Trustworthiness of AI models etc. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for research and development of Privacy Enhancing Technology under real using scenarios, e.g.  for Law Enforcement units, such as Quantum-Resilient Encryption, Privacy-preserving Financial Investigations, Graph Analytics, Criminal Network Discovery, Suspicious Activity Detection, Digital Content Provenance and Authenticity, etc., which are important components to strengthen trust, security, and resilience in the digital economy.

  • Responsible for technologies system development/implementation, and delivery working prototypes/demo.

  • Lead/Involved in research/industrial projects.

  • Prepare reports and scientific papers.

Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Theory, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals related to AI, security, privacy, trustworthy computing, and PQC.

  • Solid background in Privacy Preserving technologies, including Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Homomorphic Encryption, Secure Computation.

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

  • Proficiency in programming languages, e.g. C/C++, Python.

  • Experience with Machine learning technologies (e.g., LLM, and Machine Learning) is an advantage

  • Experience with Hardware, e.g., FPGA acceleration, is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to deliver high-quality research outcomes under tight schedules.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research team.
