Job description

The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work is related to development and demonstration of a prototype for Mobile robot combination coupling and decoupling device/platform.

  • Excellent prototyping and problem solving skills.

  • Capable of working independently and within a team, while supervising other Final year students working on their final year projects on related area.

  • Can communicate and present technically complex issues to multidisciplinary/multinational teams (local and international)

Job Requirements: 

  • Ph.D degree in Electrical/Electronics/Robotics, mechanical or mechatronics engineering

  • Experience in related area of cobot or related technologies (Plus).

  • Familiar with control systems of cobot and robotic systems (Plus)

  • Working knowledge of software (Python, C++, Matlab or similar).

  • Practical and hands-on, active self-learner and able to pay close attention to technical details

  • Proficiency in English and verbal communication, have strong work ethic and can work independently and comfortably in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Good working knowledge in ROS (Robot Operating System).
