Job description

A one-year Research Fellow position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The project is in the area of coastal underground seawater intrusion and freshwater resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting laboratory and field tests on sustainable construction materials

  • Writing project reports and scientific papers

  • Assist the PI in writing research proposals and supervising students

Job Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology/Hydrogeology from reputable universities/institutions

  • Research experience in soil hydraulic properties and movement of groundwater in soil

  • Strong publication record in decent journals (published more than 5 journal papers) 

  • Good writing and communication skills

  • Experience in supervising research students and writing research proposals

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives
