We are hiring a Research Associate/Research Fellow in electric power & energy systems to perform research in the area of modern power grids bordering on the topics like power electronics, energy storage, energy efficiency. The Research Associate/Research Fellow is also expected to support teaching activities as required by the school. We are looking for someone with experience in power engineering and a strong mathematical background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new methods for power systems control.

  • Develop data-driven methods for application in power & energy systems

  • Assist in preparation of teaching materials for electric power related courses

  • Prepare report and conduct presentation at seminars.

  • Assist the school in various teaching activities, including instructing or supervision of labs and tutorials.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD (Research Fellow), MEng/MSc (Research Associate) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or other related fields.

  • Solid Mathematical skills.

  • Experience in one of the programming language – Python, Matlab, Julia.

  • Understanding of one or more of the following areas would be an advantage

    • Optimization

    • Dynamic systems

    • Control theory

    • Power electronics

    • Signal processing

    • Machine learning and data science (various subfields, including AI)

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
