Centrillion is seeking a creative, energetic, and resourceful organic chemist to join a multidisciplinary research team developing new technologies for nucleic acid sequence analysis.
Duties:
- Conduct research experiments involving synthesis and analytical characterization of small molecules, nucleotides and oligonucleotides; and analysis of their properties and behavior in various biochemical reactions.
- Modification and characterization of surfaces, including immobilization of biomolecules.
- Bioconjugation chemistry.
- She/he will be required to develop competencies in additional techniques, and apply their practical skills and knowledge to solving a range of technical problems.
- Documentation of experimental work, analysis of data and reporting/presenting results.
- Collaboration with and/or supervision of other technical staff.
- MS/BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering including training and hands-on laboratory experience.
- Proficient in the use of instrumentation for chemical and spectroscopic analysis, such as LC, MS, NMR, FTIR, UV, Fluorescence, etc.
- Working knowledge of polymer and surface chemistry.
- Post-graduate experience in chemical or life sciences or related area is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute independent and collaborative research projects.
- Hands-on attitude and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
