The key objective is to investigate the driving mechanisms and develop effective solutions to safeguard ecosystem and human health in Southeast Asia. CCEH brings together leading experts in climate science, environmental engineering, and public health to tackle the region’s most pressing climate–health challenges through cutting-edge research, advanced modelling, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through its integrative approach, CCEH aims to translate scientific insights into actionable strategies that promote sustainability, resilience, and well-being for current and future generations.
We are looking for a Research Associate to develop and apply advanced modelling and analytical frameworks to investigate the health impacts of microplastics. The role will focus on integrating environmental monitoring data with exposure assessment models, simulating microplastic fate and transport across air, water, soil, and food systems, and quantifying potential human exposure under different environmental and policy scenarios. The role also involves assessing associated health risks, preparing reports for stakeholders, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed international journals.
Key Responsibilities:
To develop and apply models of microplastic fate, transport, and human exposure across multiple environmental media.
To integrate environmental monitoring and laboratory datasets with exposure and risk assessment frameworks.
To analyze and interpret model outputs to provide evidence-based insights for environmental health and policy.
Job Requirements:
Master’s degree in atmospheric science/geography/meteorology/environmental health or related field
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Python/R
Candidates with recent publications in relevant areas within the past 5 years are advantageous
