Job description

The Centre for Research and Development in Learning (CRADLE) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), invites applications for a Research Assistant to support a research project on leadership development in educational settings. The successful candidate will support the planning, coordination, administration, and implementation of research activities, working closely with project collaborators, stakeholders, and the Principal Investigator to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day coordination, administration, and operations of the research project.

  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare research progress reports, updates, and presentation materials.

  • Coordinate data collection activities, including scheduling interviews and liaising with participants and stakeholders.

  • Conduct interviews, transcribe audio recordings, and support qualitative data collection processes.

  • Perform field observations, document analyses, and qualitative data analysis.

  • Prepare research findings, reports, visual materials, and dissemination outputs.

  • Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and secure data management systems.

  • Support procurement of research-related materials and equipment in accordance with project requirements.

  • Organise meetings, workshops, and research dissemination activities.

  • Provide administrative and operational support as required by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements, Skills, Competencies and Experience

  • Bachelor's (Honours) degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, Educational Research, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with qualitative research methods, including conducting interviews, transcription, data analysis, and report writing, will be an advantage.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, present findings, and engage effectively with stakeholders.

  • Good organisational, project coordination, and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and project documentation.

  • Knowledge of data management practices and ability to maintain data confidentiality and security.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant research tools.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research team.

  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new skills to support project requirements.

  • Willingness to travel to research sites for data collection activities when required.

Contract Appointment: Initial appointment will be for six months, with the possibility of renewal subject to project requirements, funding availability, and satisfactory performance.
