Position Purpose:
The Global Mental Health & Flourishing Lab is looking for a service-minded, detailed-oriented, and enthusiastic Research Assistant (RA) to support ongoing research projects within the lab. The majority of the RA’s time will be spent supporting research projects focused on the impacts of war and displacement on children and adolescents, particularly in the context of Ukraine and/or Ukrainians displaced by war. Tasks would include, but are not limited to, thematic analysis of interview transcripts, systematic review and synthesis of the literature, writing external communications to diverse stakeholders, and assisting with manuscript writing, preparation, and publishing. Cultural, political, and regulatory knowledge pertinent to the Ukrainian context is required. Ukrainian language proficiency is also required. Russian and German language proficiencies are preferred, but not required.
The ideal candidate for the position will have strong organizational and communication (written and interpersonal) skills, can work independently with the support of supervision, perform well in a team science setting, and have a strong aptitude for qualitative and mixed-methods research, including thematic analysis, literature synthesis, and academic writing.
The duration of the position is at least 1 year. This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 6/30/2027.
This is hybrid eligible position.

Job Qualifications and Competencies
Education and Experience
Required: BA or BS in psychology, social work, public health, community health, or Slavic Studies, with 1-2+ years or more experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Required: Ukrainian language proficiency
Preferred: Russian and German language proficiency; experience in academic writing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in person and via email
Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail required
Training and experience in mindfulness and/or mental health research or interventions is preferred
Familiarity with APA formatting is preferred
