The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to insure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.</p><br><div><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Two years of experience in rehabilitation services plus one of the following:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">A bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services, social services, human resources, or education; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">A bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">A master's degree.</span></div>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=156250" target="_blank"><u>here.</u></a><p><strong><u>Job Duties:</u></strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Plan,&nbsp;coordinate,&nbsp;and implement&nbsp;activities of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Work Therapy Program for adult&nbsp;chronic&nbsp;psychiatric&nbsp;patients at onsite&nbsp;locations&nbsp;as part&nbsp;of the&nbsp;Activity Therapy&nbsp;Day&nbsp;Program.</li><li>Develop and implement&nbsp;procedures for specific&nbsp;components&nbsp;of&nbsp;the Work Therapy Program to include&nbsp;job&nbsp;descriptions,&nbsp;job task&nbsp;analysis,&nbsp;time and&nbsp;motion studies for the&nbsp;evaluation&nbsp;of&nbsp;patients&nbsp;while&nbsp;performing jobs.</li><li>Perform&nbsp;needs assessments&nbsp;of patients and&nbsp;make&nbsp;job&nbsp;adjustments&nbsp;accordingly.</li><li>Coordinate with Louisiana Vocational Rehabilitation to provide mandatory career counseling and information about training opportunities to workers paid subminimum wages per the Fair Labor Standards Act.</li><li>Participate&nbsp;in&nbsp;the review&nbsp;and&nbsp;revision&nbsp;of hospital policies and&nbsp;procedures&nbsp;in&nbsp;relation to&nbsp;special wage and&nbsp;labor&nbsp;laws&nbsp;to&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;compliance&nbsp;with&nbsp;changes&nbsp;in&nbsp;federal,&nbsp;state,&nbsp;and&nbsp;local laws&nbsp;and&nbsp;regulations.</li><li>Evaluate patient progress and write&nbsp;progress&nbsp;notes&nbsp;in the&nbsp;medical record according&nbsp;to department&nbsp;and&nbsp;medical record&nbsp;guidelines; complete summaries&nbsp;of&nbsp;patient's&nbsp;progress&nbsp;for&nbsp;treatment&nbsp;plan&nbsp;updates.</li><li>Assist&nbsp;in&nbsp;providing&nbsp;a variety of&nbsp;activities&nbsp;both&nbsp;on and off&nbsp;grounds&nbsp;with groups of adult&nbsp;psychiatric&nbsp;patients&nbsp;designed&nbsp;to assist&nbsp;patients in exploring and developing&nbsp;leisure&nbsp;interests and&nbsp;skills.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Position-Specific Details:</u></strong></p><p><strong>Appointment Type</strong>: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, or Transfer</p><p><strong>Compensation:</strong> This position has a Minimum Hire Rate of $24.57 hourly ($1965.60 bi-weekly)&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong>&nbsp; M-F; 8:00am – 4:30pm</p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><strong><u>How To Apply:</u></strong><br><strong>&nbsp;No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy</strong>.&nbsp;</p><p>To apply for this vacancy, click on the “Apply” link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
