Wellington Oral Surgery is a specialist oral and maxillofacial practice located in the heart of Wellington. Our experienced team provides trusted surgical care for procedures including wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, biopsies, and IV sedation. We are proud to deliver precise, compassionate care in a professional and supportive clinical environment.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our surgical team on a casual basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into the dental surgical field and work alongside highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons. You'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures while supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, particularly during IV sedation and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their care
• Assist with IV sedation procedures and patient recovery
• Maintain exceptional infection prevention and sterilisation standards
• Provide patient education and post-operative instructions
• Prepare surgical rooms and equipment for treatment sessions
• Support the wider practice team with clinical and administrative tasks as required

We're looking for a confident, compassionate, and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a clinical environment and is eager to expand their skills within a specialist surgical setting.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Current NZRC CORE Immediate (or equivalent) resuscitation certification
• Previous experience in surgical, perioperative, theatre, or procedural settings (preferred)
• Experience with scrubbing and circulating duties (advantageous but not essential)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and a patient-centred approach
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to a close-knit team
• Live locally with valid NZ work rights
