Prior IV skills are strongly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of acute care experience required.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters and PICCs for patients from pediatric to adult using vascular visualization devices, including ultrasound.
- Consulting with staff related to vascular access devices and complications of vascular access.
- Caring for and maintaining vascular access devices and clinical interventions for PICC issues: including clearance of occluded catheters, dressing protocols for skin issues, dressing assessment and management.
- Providing unit-based education.
- Participating in quality and process improvement projects.
On-call: Not required.
Summary
