Receptionists are often the first point of contact for patients visiting Cleveland Clinic. Your warm smile, positive attitude, and compassionate, empathetic approach help create a welcoming environment and set the tone for each patient’s experience. As a Receptionist supporting the J6-6 Vascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit, you will play an essential role in providing exceptional service to patients, families, and caregivers while supporting the efficient daily operations of the unit. Your dedication and professionalism will contribute to the outstanding care and patient experience Cleveland Clinic is known for.

A caregiver in this role works a rotating day/evening schedule consisting of two 12-hour shifts from 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. and two 8-hour shifts from 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Some Saturdays are required, and caregivers will rotate holidays that fall during the workweek.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Perform receptionist functions for assigned areas and/or departments.  

  • Greet guests and provide appropriate assistance and information.  

  • Receive, screen, route and respond to incoming telephone calls.  

  • Take accurate messages and ensure timely delivery.  

  • Comply with privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating with callers and guests.  

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • One year of related experience 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Two years of college and/or business school 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
