Position Description
Responsible for the daily management and oversight of Carefree’s Receiving department and inventory functions, including preparation and execution of annual physical inventory. This position will manage employees in Receiving and Inventory Control, creating a positive and productive work environment, and ensuring adherence to Carefree’s policies and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Global Supply Chain.
Essential Duties of the Receiving and Inventory Control Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Update and maintain Receiving, and Inventory Control policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe warehouse operations in compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Plan and coordinate the receipt, storage, and delivery to the floor of materials.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and workflow to maximize space utilization and productivity.
- Supervise Receiving and Inventory Control teams, providing leadership, direction, and training to ensure performance and productivity.
- Supervise and oversee the company forklift training.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, and replenishment activities, conducting regular cycle counts, audits, and inventory checks to maintain accurate inventory records and prevent outages or overstocking.
- Implement inventory management techniques, such as ABC analysis and FIFO, to prioritize inventory, minimize carrying costs, and optimize stock levels.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, training sessions, and safety stand-downs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations, security protocols, and workplace health standards.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to manage inventory, generate reports, and analyze warehouse performance metrics, such as order pick rates, cycle times, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments, including supply chain and production, to coordinate inventory planning, and order processing, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct performance evaluations and KPI tracking for Receiving and Inventory Control staff, measuring key metrics such as productivity, accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery, and providing feedback and coaching for improvement.
- Manage, support, and supervise yard and Receiving area maintenance, and housekeeping activities, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Lead preparation for each annual physical inventory, setting up location audits, and updating policies and procedures, as required, ensuring best practices are being utilized.

Qualifications for the Receiving and Inventory Control Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field preferred, or Associate’s degree plus commensurate years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of proven warehouse and/or inventory control experience.
- At least 3 years of proven experience leading and managing teams in daily operations.
- Ability to think strategically, gather and synthesize data and information, review objectively, and present facts and recommendations to management.
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Outlook and MS Excel.
- Previous experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple actions occurring simultaneously with adherence to deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to speak with individuals of varying levels of subject matter knowledge.
- Familiarity with and dedications to safety regulations and compliance standards
- Continuous improvement or Lean Six Sigma experience a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is anticipated to be from $2692.31 to $3269.23 biweekly.
