Rail Replacement Coordinator

📍 Locations: North East England (station-based roles)
🕒 Contract Type: Zero-hours (flexible shifts)
💰 Pay Rate: £13.12 per hour

About the Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Rail Replacement Coordinators to join our expanding team at Arriva Road Transport Services.

In this dynamic, frontline role, you’ll be based at key train stations, ensuring rail replacement services run safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You’ll play a vital role in supporting passengers, coordinating transport providers, and responding to real-time changes to keep services on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of planned and emergency rail replacement services

  • Support drivers and ensure vehicles meet required standards

  • Monitor service performance, ensuring timely arrivals and departures

  • Help maintain strong connections between rail and road services

  • Provide clear, helpful information to passengers

  • Manage boarding to ensure passengers travel on the correct services

  • Respond to disruptions such as delays, traffic, or incidents, adjusting services where needed

  • Work closely with control teams to resolve operational issues

  • Ensure safe and organised pick-up and drop-off areas

  • Carry out passenger counts and report service data

  • Record and escalate incidents, providing detailed feedback post-shift
