Procor Limited manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country. Our fleet has grown to include more than 30,5000 special purpose tank and freight cars. Procor also operates 28 repair locations servicing the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers and food markets.

We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable Rail Car Helper at our K+S Potash Mine in Behune SK.

The Rail Car Helper will perform work on a variety of rail car types as necessary while working inside, outside, on top of, and underneath the car.

Competencies:

  • Assist in the preparation of rail cars for repair
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, including Responsible Care Policy
  • Read, comprehend, and follow repair orders and procedures
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • WHMIS training, experience dealing with hazardous commodities.
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to work well independently
  • Strong initiative
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Cut, fit, and repair railcars, their components, and other items as necessary to facilitate railcar repair.
  • Perform all necessary AAR repairs to railcars including cutting, straightening, and car repair.
  • Perform and document quality control checks as required by Company quality standards.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance checks on used equipment.
  • Comply with company and regulatory safety and environmental standards.
  • Appropriately wear and utilize all of the following types of safety equipment in accordance with EHS instruction and requirements: Respirators (full and half face), hearing protection, eye protection, steel toed boots, and fall protection.
  • Adheres to Procor’s health and safety standards (including the Responsible Care policy), and wears the required PPE for the job in a safe manner.

The normal work schedule for this role is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm, however this schedule may change as business requirements dictate.
