The Radiological Impact Assessment Specialist is responsible for evaluating, modeling, and assessing the potential radiological impacts associated with the design, construction, operation, and decommissioning of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) facilities. The role supports environmental permitting, nuclear licensing, safety case development, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement by ensuring that radiological consequences to workers, the public, and the environment are accurately assessed and minimized.

Radiological Assessment & Modeling

  • Conduct radiological impact assessments for normal operation, anticipated operational occurrences, and accident scenarios.
  • Develop source term evaluations and radionuclide release inventories.
  • Perform atmospheric dispersion, aquatic transport, and environmental dose assessments using approved modeling tools.
  • Assess radiological consequences to workers, members of the public, and non-human biota.
  • Evaluate cumulative radiological impacts and support ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) optimization initiatives.

Environmental Monitoring & Compliance 

  • Establish radiological monitoring programs for air, water, soil, sediment, and biota.
  • Analyze environmental radiological data and evaluate trends.
  • Support development of radioactive effluent management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental and radiation protection regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, Radiation Protection, Environmental Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in radiological assessment, nuclear safety analysis, environmental impact assessment, or radiation protection.
  • To meet project donor requirements, specialist will be of Thai nationality
