Job Description : 

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Treats patients, mentors, supervises work performed by therapy staff and contributes to the management of daily operations in Radiation Oncology.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates daily staffing coverage, rotations and time usage in the treatment area. (10%)
• Reviews and maintains electronic medical records for treatment delivery, charge entry and quality assurance. (20%)
• Troubleshoots problems related to treatment equipment, patient schedules, and staffing. (15%)
• Performs patient simulations, delivers a prescribed radiation treatment, and assesses/educates patients according to specific department guidelines. (40%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required which may include but not limited to mentoring employees/students and participating in hospital initiatives. (15%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Radiation Therapy Certification and Registration
• 3 years’ experience as a Radiation Therapist

Additional Employment Requirements:

• CPR – American Heart Association

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
