Pay Range: $32.19 - $48.28

Summary:

The Radiation Therapist treats cancer patients using x-rays. They are responsible for setting up the patients in the correct treatment position to deliver radiation precisely to the targeted area.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Delivers radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescription and standard operating procedures and completes all required documentation.

  • Executes the precise positioning of the patient with respect to radiation beam and treatment area.

  • Observes and assesses patient for clinical changes and reports signs of complications.

  • Applies principles of basic radiation physics, radiation interactions and radiation protection, i.e., wears radiation film badge.

  • Completes Quality Assurance tracking, records results and assists in maintaining records.

  • Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Certifications

  • Radiation Therapy - Certification | North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Radiation Therapy - Certification | American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) | Within 6 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date | Learning Management System
