The role involves defining segmentation protocols, standardizing clinical data, and collaborating closely with clinical specialists and multidisciplinary teams, with a strong understanding of the clinical aspects of TAVR planning.

How you will make an impact:

  • Develop and own segmentation protocols for complex cardiac structures to ensure high-quality and reproducible data

  • Support the generation, preparation, and interpretation of cardiac CT data used across multiple project workstreams.

  • Develop Python-based tools for medical data processing, including DICOM handling and anonymization

  • Collaborate closely with physicians and Clinical Specialists to translate clinical needs into technical solutions

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, proactively identify gaps and requirements, and ensure that clinical and technical needs are effectively translated into project deliverables.

  • Standardize ground truth definitions and anatomical annotations for use in algorithm and AI development

  • Evaluate and implement segmentation and analysis tools based on performance, usability, and scalability

  • Lead tasks end-to-end, from concept and investigation to implementation and delivery

  • Define algorithmic requirements for TAVR-related measurements, including centerline extraction, plane definition, and geometric calculations.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering or Equivalent

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand and learn complex software tools

  • Ability to independently learn and adopt new technologies

  • Experience with Python

  • Experience with medical imaging and segmentation tools (e.g., Simpleware, 3D Slicer), Experience working with medical imaging data and analysis tools

  • Knowledge of CT imaging, cardiac anatomy, and cardiovascular concepts (advantage)

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and Clinical Specialists

  • Ability to communicate using professional clinical language and understand basic medical terminology and anatomy

  • Ability to effectively lead and facilitate clinical discussions with physicians and clinical stakeholders. Strong presentation skills – ability to clearly present complex topics

  • Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

  • Ability to maintain a system-level perspective and understand the interactions between multiple technical and clinical workstreams.
