Our client is supporting one of Europe's largest nuclear new-build projects, delivering AP1000 technology as part of a major infrastructure programme. This is an opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant project where quality, compliance, and rigorous standards are fundamental to successful delivery.
As a Quality Surveillance Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining quality performance across critical project activities. Through inspections, surveillance, and audits, you will help ensure construction and manufacturing activities meet the highest quality standards, supporting the safe and compliant delivery of this landmark programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out quality surveillance activities within a nuclear new-build environment.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and surveillance activities to verify compliance with project quality requirements, codes, and standards.
- Monitor contractor and supplier performance to ensure adherence to approved quality plans, procedures, and specifications.
- Identify quality issues and non-conformances, ensuring they are recorded, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Review quality documentation, inspection records, and test reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with construction, engineering, and project teams to promote a strong quality culture.
- Produce clear and accurate surveillance reports, maintaining comprehensive records of quality activities.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with regulatory, client, and project quality requirements.
Requirements
Essential
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quality Surveillance, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control role within a nuclear new-build environment.
- Proven experience carrying out quality surveillance, audits, and inspections on large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements within the nuclear industry.
- Experience reviewing quality documentation, inspection records, test reports, and technical documentation.
- Ability to identify non-conformances and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
- Experience working with AP1000 technology or on AP1000 nuclear projects.
- Current residence within Europe is preferred.
- Auditor qualification (Internal or Lead Auditor) or other recognised quality certification.
- Knowledge of UK nuclear quality assurance requirements and industry best practice.
