Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that inspection, testing, and
calibration processes are established, implemented, and maintained in
accordance with company and customer quality requirements and reporting on the
performance of these processes. The Quality Manager needs to be familiar with
establishing and running inspection processes, such as dimensional inspection
and micro-examination, as well as mechanical testing, such as Shear, Tensile
and Fatigue testing.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the standards, methods, and processes for inspecting and testing product
are properly documented and implemented.
Ensure the calibration and maintenance processes for measuring and testing
equipment integrity are properly documented and implemented.
Oversee the quality department training program.
Ensure proper inspection and testing of all products.
Ensure Nonconforming product is properly documented.
Able to travel occasionally in support of company quality needs.
Supervise and schedule quality department personnel as well as manage, train,
develop, and motivate them to achieve the overall quality goals and objectives.
Support AS9100 management system and audit activities.
Support Nadcap audit activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment/Process Responsibilities: Ensures work area, property, tools,
machines, equipment, measuring instruments, or chemical reagents used to
perform inspections and tests are properly cleaned and maintained daily.
Safety Responsibilities: Adherence to, and enforcement of, Company safety
rules is required. Protective equipment and clothing shall be worn as
appropriate to the task at hand and per the dress code policy and safety rules.
Initiative and Ingenuity: Requires initiative in solving problems
associated with the set-up and testing of laboratory equipment and some
ingenuity in adapting equipment, instruments, etc. to complete tests. Makes
suggestions for improving the efficiency of workflow or equipment operation.
Takes on or reports for additional work as current tasks are completed.
Performs other work-related tasks as deemed necessary by Company needs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental Surroundings: Work is in a machine shop laboratory environment
where noise, temperature fluctuations, the repetitive nature of the job, etc.
are less desirable than in a typical office environment.
Unavoidable Hazards: Possible hazards related to cuts, bruises, finger and hand
injuries, bums, chemical reactions and muscle strains. Exposure to moving
mechanical parts, metalworking fluids, chemicals, heating elements and airborne
particles. Protective equipment and clothing appropriate to the task at hand is
required.
This role is required to be on-site 5 days at the Tolleson, AZ location.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of inspection and testing management experience in
the aerospace industry. Must have application knowledge of
military/aerospace standards and world class quality specifications.
Demonstrated ability to read and write English of a level required in Company
shop documents and computer software entry and processing requirements as well
as technical manuals and specification requirements. Must be capable of
applying mathematical operations using fractions, decimals, algebra, and
geometry as required by essential job duties.
Physical: Able to lift up to 25 pounds. Required to adjust requisite equipment
to set-up specifications. Hand and finger manipulation in turning
tools/valves/handles or operating knobs/cranks/buttons etc. as well as using
precision measuring instruments. Able to reach, bend and stretch. Most job
assignments require continuous standing and/or sitting for periods exceeding 15
minutes at a time.
