The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing and sustaining process controls and inspections for aerospace, defense, and in-line motion projects. The Quality Engineer ensures that compliance with customer and project requirements are achieved. They coordinate with customers, suppliers, and collaborate internally with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Customer Service), to lead problem-solving and corrective action efforts to eliminate scrap, warranty issues, and to prevent recurrences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain compliance with standards, process controls and inspections for aerospace, defense, and in-line motion projects.
- Work with customers and suppliers to ensure product and process controls are established and vetted to support project requirements.
- Facilitate problem solving, coordinate containment and corrective actions associated with scrap and warranty returns to prevent future occurrences in cooperation with Operational, Engineering and Customer Service functions.
- Maintain a good rapport and productive communications with customers, field representatives, team members and other departments.
- Coordinates actions to support customers, facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and help in maintaining business growth.
- Support and lead internal and customer audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or other engineering disciplines.
- 1 to 5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering or related role (relevant internships, co-ops, or senior capstone projects are highly valued).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Must meet US ITAR/EAR compliance requirements (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to defense and aerospace contracts.
- Gear box and metal fabrication manufacturing process flow knowledge preferred.
- Experience with Prolink/Minitab software (QC Calc, Gage Station, Office Buddy, etc.) preferred
This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
