Job Description:

Quality Control Technician

Summary: The QC Technician is responsible for the testing of aggregate to ensure adherence to federal, state, and/or customer specifications. Assuring aggregates production process is within the specification guidelines.  This position works with aggregate plant personnel, aggregate sales personnel, construction foreman, engineering and governmental agencies.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform aggregate sampling, testing, and analysis.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of testing results.
  • Responsible for daily cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of laboratory and laboratory supplies.
  • Complete governmental and customer reports for test results.
  • Communicate testing results to the plant, sales personnel, construction personnel, and government agencies.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding discrepancies between test results and aggregate received.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of aggregate quality control data.
  • Experience with aggregate lab equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of aggregate production process and stockpiling practices.
  • Possess good mathematical skills.
  • Must be capable of operating the assigned machine/equipment in a safe manner so as not to jeopardize their safety, the safety of others around him and all other related equipment.
  • Must complete ODOT Level 1 and Level 2 certification.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting aggregate samples +/-50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand / walk +/-8 hours.
  • Exposure to high heat, dust, and noise.

Work Environment:

  • Variable working hours
  • Willing to Travel

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Microsoft Office applications
