Quality Control Manager at Cellerator
Novo Nordisk Foundation
Apply to this jobAt Cellerator, quality is what turns promising cell therapies into treatments patients can actually receive. We are a philanthropic organisation founded and funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, and we are building our Quality Control function from the ground up.
About the role
As QC Manager, you will play a central role in establishing and developing the quality control function. Working closely with our AD/QC lead, you will help shape the QC operating model, lead analytical method transfer and qualification, manage our external testing laboratories, and set up sample, stability and environmental monitoring programmes that hold up to GMP and regulatory scrutiny.
You will act as QC project lead for assigned programmes, working day to day with Process Development, Analytical Development, Manufacturing, QA and Facilities - and with partners outside our walls.
This is a build-phase role. Not everything is fully established yet: processes are evolving, priorities may shift, and the role will stretch. You will help build what doesn't exist yet - and that is the best part of the job.
What you will do
- Help shape and continuously improve the QC function, working with the AD/QC Lead to establish scalable laboratory workflows, capacity planning, testing schedules and quality systems that support future GMP operations.
- Develop and implement QC systems and documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, specifications, protocols and reports, while supporting equipment qualification, laboratory digital systems (e.g. LIMS) and inspection readiness.
- Lead QC activities across development programmes, including analytical method transfer, qualification, sample management, stability testing and project delivery in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Build strong external partnerships and drive operational excellence, managing contract testing laboratories and vendors, while leading environmental monitoring, deviations, OOS/OOT investigations, CAPAs, change controls and continuous improvement.
- Help build a resilient QC organisation, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and scalable ways of working as the function grows.
What you will bring
- A scientific background (MSc or PhD) together with at least five years' experience in Quality Control and a GMP regulated environment. Experience in cell or gene therapy is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in QC operations, including analytical method transfer, quality systems, data integrity, laboratory documentation and inspection readiness.
- Experience working with external testing laboratories, stability programmes, environmental monitoring and laboratory digital systems such as LIMS.
- The ability to lead projects and build relationships, working confidently across multidisciplinary teams, external partners and evolving development programmes.
- A collaborative, curious and proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in building new capabilities and helping innovative cell therapies reach patients.

We help great ideas become real treatments. From our site in Lyngby, we work hands-on with cell-based therapies - from early development through GMP manufacturing and regulatory readiness.
We are growing, and that means room to shape how things are done. You will influence the QC function itself, not inherit someone else's version of it.
We believe good science happens when people enjoy their work, support each other and keep a healthy balance. That is not a poster on the wall — it is how we work.
Backed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, driven by impact rather than profit, and collaborative by default — across academia, industry and our own teams.

Life at Cellerator
We’re building something meaningful from the ground up. If you thrive in complexity, value pragmatic solutions over perfect theory, and want your work to directly influence how advanced therapies reach patients, you’ll feel at home here.
Built with you, not before you. We’re a scale-up, so our processes, culture, and ways of working are still taking shape. You won’t inherit a rigid playbook—you’ll help create it.
Work well, sustainably. We take work–life balance seriously and aim for a supportive, enjoyable workplace. Good science happens when people feel trusted, supported, and able to do their best work.
Flat by design. We work across teams rather than in silos. Whether you’re collaborating with GMP production, academic partners, or leadership, your perspective matters. We prioritise partnership over hierarchy.
Backed, but independent. The Novo Nordisk Foundation provides the stability and credibility to deliver on our mission. At the same time, our culture and direction are distinctly our own, and we move with the pace and spirit of a scale-up.
