QA Automation Lead

We're looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead to help elevate quality across our games and platforms by driving automation excellence, mentoring quality engineers, and implementing modern quality engineering practices.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role for a highly technical quality professional. Working closely with the QA Manager, you will ensure the highest quality standards across multiple projects by building automation frameworks from the ground up, solving complex testing challenges, and empowering teams through coaching and mentorship.

What You Will Do

• Architect & Build: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and backend services supporting our gaming ecosystem.
• End-to-End Testing: Develop automated tests for functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing while analysing results to identify root causes.
• Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with game teams and internal/external QA teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mentorship & Training: Provide technical leadership to the Quality Engineering team, mentoring junior and senior engineers to grow their automation and programming expertise.
• Code Excellence: Conduct code reviews and lead training sessions on quality engineering best practices to promote high standards for maintainability and scalability.

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Appium, and Python/Java.
• Strong experience in using version control tools like GitHub
• Proven experience designing and building automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience testing mobile applications and web platforms, alongside strong software engineering fundamentals and API testing expertise.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies and excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools and how generative AI can improve test creation, maintenance, analysis, and productivity.
• A strong passion for exploring emerging technologies that enhance software quality.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have)

• Experience testing mobile games, gaming platforms, or live-service products.
• Familiarity with cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Lambda Test, or AWS Farm.
• Experience with performance, reliability, or scalability testing.
• ISTQB Automation or relevant quality certifications.

• Bachelor's Degree

How You Will Measure Success

• 30 Days: Map out the existing technical architecture and build strong relationships with cross-functional game teams and external QA partners.
• 90 Days: Design or upgrade our core web automation framework and establish a structured code-review process for the QE team.
• 6 Months: Achieve a measurable reduction in manual regression cycle times and increase automated test coverage across critical paths.
