Job Summary

The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing calibration, verification, maintenance, and documentation of various inspection, measuring and test equipment to ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. The role supports manufacturing and quality operations by ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems and instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and verification of measuring and test equipment, including but not limited to:
    • Digital and analog measuring instruments
    • Pressure gauges
    • Thermometers and temperature controllers
    • Torque tools
    • Micrometers, calipers, and gauges
    • Electronic test equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of calibration equipment.
  • Maintain calibration schedules and ensure all instruments are calibrated before due dates.
  • Generate and maintain calibration records, certificates, and reports.
  • Identify out-of-tolerance equipment and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF 16949, or other applicable quality standards.
  • Support internal and external audits related to calibration systems.
  • Assist in equipment qualification and measurement system analysis activities.
  • Monitor environmental conditions affecting calibration accuracy.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams regarding instrument requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor's degree, Industrial Technology, or equivalent in:
    • Electronics
    • Instrumentation
    • Mechanical Technology
    • Electrical Engineering Technology
    • Related technical field

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience with calibration management systems is an advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of measurement principles and calibration techniques.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Proficient in using calibration equipment and precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of uncertainty calculation and measurement system analysis is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • On-time calibration completion rate.
  • Calibration record accuracy.
  • Number of overdue instruments.
  • Equipment downtime due to calibration issues.
  • Audit compliance and findings.
  • Support of quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
