External Affairs Director/ Senior Manager (M3) Bahamas

Job Summary

The External Affairs Director will support Disney Cruise Line business initiatives in The Bahamas & Caribbean by leading government relations and regulatory engagement, building trusted relationships, and serving as Disney’s central point of contact for external stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, the non-profit community, internal business leaders, colleagues, and media. This position is based in Nassau and will report to the Director of External Affairs for Disney Signature Experiences.

The External Affairs Director will:

• Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies, requiring in-depth knowledge of government processes, policy development, and regulatory procedures, while managing relationships with key government stakeholders and coordinating permitting, approvals, and compliance-related engagement.

• Oversee the development and implementation of strategic communication plans that support business objectives, regulatory priorities, and stakeholder alignment.

• Oversee the development and execution of events that effectively engage key

stakeholders and achieve business goals.

• Partner with CSR team on the development and implementation of corporate citizenship initiatives and Disney VoluntEARS programs in The Bahamas & Caribbean, working closely with the Senior Manager, corporate citizenship, for Disney Signature Experiences.

• Act as a consultant, influencer, and strategic thought partner to senior leadership and business partners across Disney Cruise Line on government relations strategy, regulatory risk, stakeholder engagement, and regional policy developments.

• As needed, serve as main media contact in The Bahamas, Caribbean and internationally and at times, serve as a primary spokesperson for media inquiries related to initiatives in The Bahamas & Caribbean.

• Lead public affairs team member(s) located in The Bahamas.

• Work closely with U.S.-based team members to leverage resources across

communications disciplines and ensure alignment on government relations, regulatory issues management, public affairs, and executive engagement.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, public policy, communications, and/or public affairs

• Deep understanding of community dynamics, government structures, and regulatory environments in The Bahamas & Caribbean

• Must be a confident communicator and presenter

Proven ability to set clear objectives and drive work resulting in desired outcomes

Proven ability to generate big ideas and creative solutions for issues and opportunities and effectively integrate them into the development and execution of strategic plans

Demonstrated experience in event management and logistics

Proven project management, regulatory tracking, and reporting skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across internal and external stakeholders

Proactive, reliable and responsible with a demonstrated attention to detail

Proven ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines

Ability to work comfortably with all levels of the company and community

Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

Demonstrated strong networking skills

Excellent organizational and planning skills

Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to work

Demonstrated experience in managing budgets

Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and Outlook

Required Education

4-year degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Public Relations, Marketing orCommunications
