Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Career Opportunity – Kansas

 

Large private, not-for-profit organization that offers a wide range of outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults experiencing concerns related to their emotional and mental health as well as to their alcohol or drug use has a need for an experienced psych nurse practitioner

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychiatric evaluations of mental health center clients
  • Provide medication management and education services consistent with the needs of the client.
  • Facilitate and evaluate patients for admission to inpatient mental health or substance use treatment as required.
  • Provide case consultation to the agency’s clinical staff as necessary.
  • Utilize staff psychiatrists for supervision and case consultation as necessary.
  • Collaborate with administrative/support staff to insure efficiency in scheduling client appointments, follow up, consultations, phone calls and paperwork time.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to insure effective follow up, monitoring and education regarding medication and symptoms of mental illness with clients and family members.
