Job description

A project officer position is available in the DNA and RNA Editing (DaRE) Laboratory at the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in NTU. The laboratory, led by Assoc Prof Tan Meng How, works on developing and applying cutting edge biotechnologies, including high throughput next generation (NGS) sequencing and CRISPR-Cas, to read, write, and decipher genomes and transcriptomes in living cells. The project officer will be involved in efforts to develop and apply new tools and methodologies to push the boundaries of genomics and synthetic biology.

We seek an innovative and self-motivated researcher to join us in our endeavor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply new genomic technologies to push the boundaries of genomics and synthetic biology.

  • Analyze data and prepare reports and presentations

  • Write and publish journal papers

  • Guide undergraduate students

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in science or engineering

  • Some research experience in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, or related discipline (such as genomics, genetics, computational biology, cell biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology etc.)

  • Demonstrated an ability to work well in a team

  • Possess some knowledge of the latest genomic technologies.
