General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operational aspects of Competition Advocacy projects and serves as the liaison between Competition Advocacy and Small Business Program management and the project team, supply chain, and line management to present and exchange information. The Project Manager I supports project planning and execution, monitors progress against schedule and budget, and ensures activities comply with applicable Quality, ISO, and Federal Government requirements.

The Project Manager I continually reviews the status of the project and budget; manages schedules and develops appropriate reports and dashboards to document and communicate progress. This position assesses project issues and develops solutions to meet production, quality, compliance, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. The role requires strong communication with subject matter experts (SMEs), the ability to read and understand engineering source control drawings, and experience navigating compliance reviews and audits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with development of project plans and managing resources to ensure project schedule, budget, quality, and specification goals are attained.
  • Monitor project schedule, timeline, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
  • Coordinate departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services.
  • Monitor work of project management staff, providing technical support and direction when necessary.
  • Create progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations using word processing, Microsoft Office, and Adobe tools. May present results to the project team and management when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the project team to expand services and potential business opportunities, including participation in Contracts & Procurement Operations, Competition Advocacy and Small Business Program initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Government regulations including FAR/DFARS, as well as applicable Quality and ISO standards and internal company procedures.
  • Identify and assess project issues and develop recommendations for solutions to meet productivity, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • May act as a lead providing direction and guidance to employees working on assigned projects.
  • May participate in the request for proposal (RFP) process to generate new business, including support for proposal documentation and coordination with SMEs.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.
