Our client is a well-established manufacturer in the Food industry, seeking a Project Engineer to join their team. The Project Engineer will be responsible for implementing capital programs, cost improvement and quality improvement projects utilizing maintenance and operations personnel, vendors and contractors to integrate projects into the existing plant in cost efficient, timely manner. The Project Engineer provides technical assistance to Production and Maintenance departments.


Responsibilities:

Performs detailed engineering and management of projects supporting the Production and Maintenance departments

Manages capital projects, working with outside firms, contractors, maintenance and operations teams

Supports new product opportunities by examining equipment capabilities, identifying gaps and estimating upgrade costs

Identifies potential improvements to existing facilities

Works with management on safety and environmental issues and leads corrective actions as needed

Plans projects by studying customer requirements, identifying and analyzing trends in technology and collaboration with management team members

Determines feasibility of projects by identifying and forecasting costs and project plan requirements

Assists in administering, troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems and related hardware

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required

3-5 years of experience in food processing or food packaging strongly preferred

Project management experience

Training or experience in AutoCAD, PLC systems, and Process Control Instrumentation systems

Prior experience working with outside contractors to complete projects

Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
