Job description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will assist in manage sub-constructors, projects, vendors, coordinate with BD team, Investors and clients for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar rooftop projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experience in the fast-growing renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from contract award through commissioning and project handover.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, milestones, and resource plans to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate daily project activities with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and technical issues, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Prepare weekly project progress reports, meeting minutes, and management updates.

Engineering Coordination

  • Review engineering drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and design deliverables prepared by the Design Team to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the Local Design Engineer and HQ Design Team on engineering reviews, design revisions, RFIs, and technical clarifications throughout project execution.
  • Conduct site surveys and technical assessments before construction where required.
  • Review subcontractor shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions before implementation.

Procurement & Commercial Coordination

  • Coordinate procurement activities, including material requisitions, delivery schedules, supplier follow-up, and subcontractor mobilization.
  • Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment in accordance with project schedules.
  • Support commercial evaluations of subcontractors and suppliers when required.

Client & Authority Coordination

  • Serve as the primary project coordinator between clients, consultants, utility authorities (EVN), subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Coordinate with Legal on contract administration, variation orders, claims, and project correspondence.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Accounting on payment applications, milestone billing, payment schedules, and project cost tracking.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and utility companies regarding permits, grid interconnection, meter installation, inspections, and project approvals.

Construction, Quality & Safety

  • Supervise subcontractors to ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate site inspections, testing, commissioning, and system energization activities.
  • Ensure project documentation, QA/QC records, commissioning reports, and as-built documentation are completed and submitted on time.
  • Support implementation of HSE requirements throughout project execution.

Project Close-Out

  • Coordinate project handover, punch list clearance, final documentation, warranty matters, and project close-out activities.
  • Capture lessons learned and contributed to continuous improvement of project execution processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in EPC project execution, preferably in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Solar PV projects.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical installations, construction management, and commissioning activities.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, clients, consultants, utility authorities, and cross-functional teams.
  • Good understanding of Vietnamese regulations, TCVN standards, IEC standards, and EVN interconnection requirements.
  • Experience in project scheduling (Microsoft Project or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of AutoCAD and PVSyst is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is an advantage.
