Role Description
We’re looking for an experienced Project and Product Support Officer to join a high-performing team within the Collaborative and Autonomous Systems Project Office (CASPO) supporting the delivery of project AIR6015 Air Autonomous Collaborative Platforms and the MQ-28 Ghost Bat capability.

Essential Requirements:

  • Effective support to project, product and governance activities.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of project documentation, governance artefacts and reporting products.
  • Achievement of project and product milestones through proactive coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Delivery of financial and commercial support activities in accordance with Defence policies and governance requirements.
  • Development and maintenance of sustainment and support system cost information to inform future capability planning.
  • Improved visibility of project performance, risks, financial status and governance obligations.
  • Contribution to continuous improvement initiatives across CASPO.
  • Effective collaboration with Commonwealth personnel and industry partners.
  •  Build and sustain productive relationships with project teams, industry partners, capability managers and support organisations.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues and support delivery of project outcomes.
  • Provide timely advice and coordination support to project and product leadership.
  • Support commercial and financial management activities including contract administration, purchase order management, invoice processing, budget monitoring, financial reporting and procurement activities.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting and cost estimate development activities for approved and unapproved project scope.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance and coordination of project and product documentation, including Integrated Project Management Plans (IPMP), schedules, briefs, governance papers and reporting products.
  • Support the development of product management, support system and sustainment planning artefacts to inform future capability transitions and life-of-type management activities.
  • Support the preparation and progression of submissions, reviews and committee activities in accordance with Defence Capability System (DCS) requirements.
  • Undertake project reporting using applicable Defence management systems and tools.
  • Assist with the identification, management and reporting of risks, issues, opportunities and dependencies.
  • Support Fundamental Input to Capability (FIC) integration activities through stakeholder engagement and coordination.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Timely delivery of tasks from ACS Branch.   
  • Strong Communication Skills   
  • Demonstrated Stakeholder engagement skills.   
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing work demand
  • Effective engagement of stakeholders and subject matter experts to facilitate outcomes (e.g. communicating effectively with areas of expertise).    
  • Demonstrated understanding of SPO business
  • Requires in-location support – Amberley and Brisbane CBD (occasionally)
  • Travel may be required to support project activities
  • Working knowledge of Defence governance, program management or commercial processes. Compliant and responsive to CASG 2.0, ERP, and DSR requirements.


Required Security Clearance Level: Active NV1 Clearance.

Location: Amberley QLD. CASPO. 

Weekly Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week, with options for work from home on Friday's - depending on task requirements.
