<undefined> <img src="https://secure.neogov.com/images/AgencyImages/jobposting/1339/jobpostings/image/badge_lg (1).png" alt="badge_lg (1).png" style="width: 197px" class="fr-fic fr-dii"></undefined><br><undefined> Provide legal motions and notary services to the inmates, process program rosters, maintain a leisure reading collection, provide resources to the inmates, and assist other sections within the Programs Unit.</undefined><p>To promote the physical, creative and social development of inmates detained at the Adams County Detention Facility.</p><p><strong>Examples of Duties for Success:</strong></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Report to the Programs Supervisor.</li><li>Adhere to policies, procedures, and post orders.</li><li>Attend required trainings and practice safety/security awareness.</li><li>Utilize effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, written, listening)</li><li>Provide professional customer service. </li><li>Promote a positive team atmosphere.</li><li>Prepare reports as directed and meet required deadlines.</li><li>Daily use: Telephone/Two-Way Radio/Jail Management System/Judicial Databases/Microsoft Office Applications</li><li>Obtain notary certification while in training and maintain certification throughout employment in this position.</li><li>Work with the inmate population, individually and/or in a group setting, while maintaining control of the environment.<ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Supervise inmate workers in the course of their duties</li></ol></li><li>Conduct/supervise recreational activities, games, tournaments, art classes, and other leisure activities for the inmates within the Detention Facility.</li><li>Prepare lesson plans and recreation/leisure activity handouts for the inmates.</li><li>Maintain an inventory of games and recreational equipment. Provide inventory information to the Programs Supervisor for purchasing.</li><li>Assist in getting inmates to scheduled programs.</li><li>Organize, promote, and develop interest in activities and special programs for inmates.</li><li>Assist with sign-up sheet for various programs.</li><li>Perform game exchanges and provide recreational equipment to the housing units on a regular basis.</li><li>Gather inmates for scheduled programs.</li><li> Maintain inventory, suggest items to order, and receive recreational equipment and supplies.</li><li>Assist with coverage in the Law Library (Program Rosters, Book Exchange, Law Desk, Resources).</li><li>Assist with coverage of the mail room (collect, process, and disseminate mail).</li><li>Assist the volunteers in the volunteer program.</li><li>Assist inmates with physical and mental disabilities in accessing and participating in Facility programs in accordance to their classification level.</li><li>The job responsibilities of the Recreation Assistant and Library Assistant may be shared and rotated positions</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><ul style="margin: 0 0 3pt; padding: 0 0 0 40px; text-align: left; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); text-indent: 0; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none"><li>Minimum 21 years of age</li><li>Must have a valid Colorado driver's license</li><li>Employee should possess mental alertness and the ability to adapt to changing routines</li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent education</li><li>Two years of college in addition to experience working with inmates in a Correctional Facility Setting or similar situation is preferred</li></ul><br><a class="fr-file">2026 Adams County Employee Benefit Guide.pdf</a><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Knowledge of computer systems (MS Office Suite)</li><li>Excellent customer service and teamwork skills</li><li>Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary</li><li>Knowledge of basic legal terminology is preferred</li><li>Ability to facilitate and control group activities in a secure environment</li><li>Ability to make sound decisions quickly</li><li>Ability to be assertive and self-motivated</li></ul>
