At Timpack we’re proud to be a leading provider of pallet solutions across New Zealand, supporting logistic and supply chain industries. We’re committed to innovation, sustainability and great customer service. But just as importantly we care about long term relationships, with our customers and suppliers and with our staff where we create a positive and supportive environment.

We’re seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to take charge of the Processing department Afternoon shift and help us grow to the future.  This shift runs from 3pm to 11.30pm Monday to Friday.

You’ll be responsible for approximately 14 - 16 staff and making timely decisions to keep production running smoothly. This is not an office-based or management-only role, you’ll be on the floor solving problems and leading from the front.   Key Responsibilities include;

  • Lead, develop and motivate a team across our Processing department
  • Resolve production issues, providing hands-on mechanical support to minimise downtime.
  • Make timely decisions to keep production running including spend on R&M
  • Manage workloads, absenteeism, and ensure appropriate staff training & development
  • Use data and reports to drive productivity, reduce waste, and improve process

You’ll bring at least five years’ manufacturing / engineering experience along with proven leadership skills. Alternatively, we are also open to candidates who are ready to step into leading a larger team and will provide training and development to support your leadership progression.   Along with being mechanically minded, driven and hands-on.  You’ll also have:

  • A formal qualification in a hands-on trade such as Engineering, and / or proven experience in maintaining, troubleshooting and fixing machinery.
  • A willingness to see others succeed
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive, action-oriented approach to your work
  • Clear communication and accountability in leadership.
  • Financial awareness to manage costs and productivity.
  • A relaxed likeable personality

    What’s on Offer

    • Structured transition and mentoring as you learn both departments.
    • Hands-on involvement with evolving automation and modern equipment.
    • A stable afternoon shift within a growing, future-focused business.
    • Long-term career development opportunities across the wider group.

If you’re a practical, people-focused leader who enjoys being on the floor and making a real difference - we’d love to hear from you!
