Product Quality Engineer – Operations & Supplier Quality
 
We're seeking a hands-on Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineer to join the Hobart Hillsboro team in a highly collaborative engineering role focused on product performance, manufacturing excellence, supplier quality, and continuous improvement. 
 
This position sits at the center of Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Supplier Quality, where you'll investigate technical challenges, drive corrective actions, improve manufacturing performance, and help ensure products are reliable, cost-effective, and ready to perform in the real world. 
 
This is not a paperwork-driven quality role. This is a highly visible engineering position where your technical expertise will directly influence product quality, supplier performance, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
• Partner daily with Operations to resolve production issues and improve performance. 
• Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and data-driven analysis. 
• Drive corrective and preventive actions for production, supplier, and field-related quality issues. 
• Collaborate with suppliers to solve technical problems, improve quality, and reduce cost. 
• Support New Product Development (NPD) activities to ensure robust product launch readiness. 
• Lead and support PPAP activities for new and revised products. 
• Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. 
• Support internal and external audits with a focus on sustainable corrective action and operational improvement. 
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, and cost performance. 
• Work closely with engineering teams to improve product designs, manufacturability, and long-term reliability. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
 
• Prefer Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing

Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
• 3-5+ years of engineering, manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, or related experience. 
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence positive outcomes. 
• Excellent communication and project management skills. 

Quality experience -  APQP -PPAP -FMEA -MSA -SPC -GD&T , First Article Inspection (FAI) ,  Supplier Quality Engineering , Manufacturing Quality Systems , Auditing and Corrective Actions , Lean Manufacturing principles Continuous Improvement methodologies 
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS 
 
• Work is performed across office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments. 
• PPE required in manufacturing areas, including steel-toe footwear and safety glasses. 
• Regular standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the manufacturing facility. 
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. 
• Occasional travel to support suppliers, production, quality, and engineering initiatives.
