Product Engineer

Position: Product Engineer
Job Descripton:
The Product Sustaining Engineer will have primary responsibilities for all factory-related issues. These include maintaining production yields, line failure escalation management, process and quality improvements. S/he will also assist in the debug of field RMAs. Additional responsibilities include vendor audits and selection and managing supplier improvement programs.
Responsibilities:

• Assist with product validation to ensure that the final product meets all requirements before production release.
• Track BOM and assembly drawings to ensure CM's are building to the correct revision level and CM documentation matches released documentation.
• Train CM personnel to build and test new products before release.
• Assist CM's in creating detailed work instructions. Audit their SOPs.
• Continuously pursue/find opportunities to reduce manufacturing cost and variation.
• Determine root cause of escalated line manufacturing issues. Initiate appropriate corrective action.
• Participate in evaluation/selection of CM's factory audits.
• Utilize information from field-reported issues to reproduce them in-house, investigate and collect data to drive long term product improvements.
• Make recommendations for improving product quality; work cross functionally to incorporate quality and serviceability in design.
• Contribute to failure analysis to determine how best to service the products in the field.

Qualifications:

• BSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of product and/or test engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) for computer hardware systems.
• Experience in driving reliability improvements at system and sub-system level.
• Thorough understanding of world-class manufacturing systems and processes.
• Experience with Intel x86 based servers.
