Role Overview
This is a varied role covering all aspects of product testing, value engineering, product design and evaluation of new or existing products.
The role of Product Development Engineer will be based within the research and development department and will involve working closely with all other departments within the business.
This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week from Loughborough.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake development, testing and design projects in line with new product development objectives.
- Complete high quality CAD drawings to required standards.
- Conduct product testing and evaluation, generating accurate and comprehensive test reports.
- Work to project briefs and develop project plans in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support product certification and testing activities alongside the Quality and Standards team.
- Maintain structured document control systems, including version management.
- Keep accurate records throughout all stages of product development projects.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 departmental procedures.
- Produce risk assessments and safe systems of work where required and follow all health and safety procedures.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities, including more sustainable ways of working and reducing carbon impact across the product lifecycle.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience using CAD software.
- Knowledge and experience of Product Development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Well organised with the ability to effectively manage workload and priorities.
- Good presentation skills and confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering results within agreed timescales.
- Strong analytical skills with an excellent understanding and use of figures, statistics and data.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to create business justifications and present them professionally.
- Willingness to work at various UK locations to deliver projects.
