Job description

The Procurement Specialist supports purchasing, supply chain, and warehousing operations at our facility. This role is responsible for coordinating orders with vendors, managing inventory, assisting with warehouse control tasks, and completing the associated recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in administrative systems, has strong supplier and warehouse management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Job and Duties

-        Coordinates orders and purchases of raw materials with various suppliers

-        Assists with warehouse control and organization tasks  

-        Manages periodic physical inventory of raw materials and performs reconciliation of the inventory in our database

-        Monitors raw material usage and identifies needs to meet production schedules

-        Researches and reconciles raw material inventory variances

-        Assists with on-boarding new suppliers and materials, including the gathering of appropriate documentation related to food safety regulations

-        Supports cross-functional team members in order to meet deadlines

-        Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills, Expectations and Education/Training

-        Bachelor’s Degree preferred

-        High School Diploma or GED required

-        One+ years experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement, or related industry, preferred

-        Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite

-        Strong interpersonal communication via in-person, phone and email

-        Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

-        Stable work history

-        Must be able to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

-        Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually in an environment with changing priorities
