Description

Essential Functions of the Job


1. Lead and equip the team to give a positive work environment in every aspect of their job, to each other,


donors, customers and volunteers.


2. To perform any of the required job duties within the processing team. This includes all requirements related


to accepting donations, presorting and pricing merchandise.


3. Adhere to and implement, daily, all donor service standards, policies and procedures.


4. Responsible for hiring and termination of all processing staff.


5. Work closely with the Team Services Hiring Manager to place the best people on the team.


6. Train and retain employees.


7. Properly execute necessary paperwork related to employees including document coaching opportunities,


hiring paperwork, termination paperwork, workers compensation paperwork, etc.


8. Must fulfill the required hours and required scheduled shifts unless otherwise approved by the Director of


Operations.


9. Must approve timecards by 12:00 pm on Payroll Mondays.


10. Payroll Mondays should also be the days when managers create schedules for two weeks out unless


otherwise discussed with the Director.


11. Accurately keep up with and fill out labor worksheets every Monday and on an as needed basis.


12. Ensure that daily reports are properly filled out in a timely manner.


13. Must be able to appropriately set daily goals and plan their day according to projections/targets.


14. Review Cyfe Dashboard daily to understand and communicate targets to the team.


15. Schedule staff appropriately to ensure the team is well equipped for high volume days.


16. Maintain clean and well-organized reception, presort and processing areas.


17. Train processing staff and volunteers to maintain a clean and well-organized reception, presort, and


processing areas.


18. Provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere for processing staff to promote further professional


development and growth within Blue Mountain .


19. Facilitate and promote an encouraging, positive and unified relationship between Processing and Retail


Departments.


20. Work with and effectively communicate with the Retail Manager on a daily basis to ensure all the operational


needs of the store are being met.


21. Stay up to date and well-informed with the ever-changing needs and procedures of the Wholesale


Department.


22. Effectively communicate and gather information from the Wholesale Director to clarify any questions


pertaining to changing policies.




Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


1. Must be a people person with a pleasant and willing attitude and have a servant’s heart.


2. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with an excellent command of the English language.


3. Must have a commitment to Blue Mountain ’ mission and mission statement.


4. Must be detail-oriented and have solid organizational skills.


5. Must be a problem solver and be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision and take initiative.


6. Excellent time management skills.


7. Must possess a demonstrable level of skill and proficiency in planning so to meet established goals.

9. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel (spreadsheets).


10. Email communications (including attachments).


11. Ability to operate general office machines, copier, fax, printers, scanners.


12. Ability to access websites to help evaluate the value of donated items.


13. Ability to read and define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


14. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.


Education & Experience


High School diploma or GED required.


Essential Physical Requirements


Stand – up to 100% of a standard work day.


Walk – up to 75% of a standard work day.


Sit – less than 10% of a standard work day.


Use hands to perform required duties – up to 100% of a standard work day.


Lifting and Bending – up to 75% of a standard work day.


Talk or hear – As needed throughout a standard work day.




Moderate physical activity. Depending on location, this position may require frequent strenuous activity. Able to lift at


least 50 pounds. Use hands to lift, sort, clean, organize throughout a standard work day. Depending on location, this


position may work in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure throughout the workday. Will have to wear a


name badge.


VISION REQUIREMENTS


Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).


Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).


Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).


Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed


on a given point).


Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).


Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).


Work Schedule & Required Hours


Full time, Monday through Saturday, 43+ hours per week. Minimum of two (2) closing shifts a week required. Two (2)


shifts a month must be a weekend closing shift. Saturday shifts can’t be half days.


In order to effectively process payroll, department managers must work the opening shift on Payroll Monday, unless


otherwise approved by the Director of Operations.


Attendance at specific meetings, off-site events or training, as required. Some Sundays may be requested to work on


a voluntary basis.
