Job Description

LGT Capital Partner’s infrastructure strategy invests across three strategies: Primary Fund Commitments, Secondary investments (both LP-led and GP-led secondaries), and Direct Co-Investments. The strategy is focused on Core Plus and Value Add infrastructure where the team finds attractive risk-adjusted return opportunities and the greatest ability to leverage the broader LGT Capital Partners Private Equity Platform. For that reason the infrastructure team, while dedicated to the asset class, sits within the Private Equity Investment Management team. The business manages both a flagship fund offering that focuses on Secondaries and Co-investments, and a series of mandates with varying investment strategies.

Due to expected growth in the market and plans to launch the next iteration of its flagship fund series, the LGT Capital Partners infrastructure team is looking to add an experienced Associate to its team based in Pfaffikon (SZ), Switzerland.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a small but growing dedicated infrastructure team, which originates, assesses, executes and monitors infrastructure investments across all three strategies (Primaries, Secondaries, and Co-investments).

Key aspects of the job include:

  • Helping to build and maintain good working relationships with existing and prospective GPs, placement agents, and intermediaries to support ongoing deal flow;

  • Supporting senior team members and working collaboratively with junior team members in pursuit of the team’s goals;

  • financial modeling;

  • quantitative and qualitative analysis of infrastructure funds (from both a primary and secondary basis) and direct co-investments;

  • investment appraisal of underlying portfolio companies and infrastructure projects in various sectors including transportation, renewable energy, water, telecom, regulated utilities;

  • credit and risk analysis;

  • presenting due diligence findings to the team and investment committee in a clear and succinct manner that adequately captures the risks, mitigants, and opportunities;

  • negotiation, structuring and agreeing documents and terms;

  • project management from initial due diligence to final completion of transactions.

The position also includes other responsibilities associated with the investment process:

  • participation and preparation for weekly team meetings and bi-weekly Investment Committee meetings;

  • management and update of key databases and document management critical for identifying potential opportunities;

  • monitoring of existing investments;

  • preparation of materials used in internal meetings and external client presentations;

  • research on trends/competitors in the global infrastructure market;

  • ad-hoc market analysis;

  • Interaction with other parts of the firm including tax structuring, legal, compliance and marketing.

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in finance, business or engineering from a top-tier university and an excellent academic track record;

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant working experience, ideally with a background in infrastructure investing (Primary, Secondary, Co-investment, or Direct), infrastructure M&A advisory, or management consulting;

  • Excellent English writing and communication skills, including personal or professional experience in an English-speaking environment; familiarity with another language is preferred;

  • Self-starter personality, highly motivated with an international mindset;

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and client-facing skills;

  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial and committed;

  • Good organizational skills.

Benefits

  • We provide modern working conditions, including work-from-home options, flexible hours, and a home office allowance for equipping work environments with the latest technology;

  • A diverse culture full of mutual respect, teamwork and appreciation awaits you at LGT Capital Partners – we go the extra mile to make an impact;

  • We empower and invest in you: your professional and personal development is key at our company: therefore, we offer you internal and external trainings aligned with our business needs. If you are interested, you can also enhance your German or English skills;

  • We are proud to be owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein and our successful company is greatly inspired by their entrepreneurial attitude;

  • Commitment to ESG: our actions are influenced by the Princely Family’s long-term perspective. Sustainability is key for us, and we act accordingly since 2002.
