Job Summary:
This is an exciting role in a growing company. The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience in product development, manufacturing, electronics, and mechanical assembly. The role will lead the standardization in approaching ECN and NPI management from design release to manufacturability. In this role, you will work closely with an exceptional engineering team and support daily production activities. This person will be responsible to create and implement digital work instructions, procedures, equipment, and workstation design used to standardize workflow to optimize production.
Responsibilities:
- Standardize engineering change and new product introduction process between design release and manufacturability
- Partner with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to assess design requirements and producibility as well as provide DFM feedback
- Think creatively to resolve and challenge conflicting requirements
- Evaluate and implement software automation solutions for test stations, collaborating with test and systems teams
- Lead in the structuring and evolution of the manufacturing execution system including the setup of manufacturing work center architecture and product flow for testing
- Participate in development of new factory and introduction of new product lines
- Evaluate non-conformances realized in hardware testing and implement solutions with test and engineering organizations
- Develop, demonstrate, and verify that innovative production processes are ready for production
- Work in a fast-paced agile environment and adapt to evolving design and production challenges
- Use production data (SPC, FPY, Overall yield, etc.) to drive decisions on design and process changes that support program cost and delivery goals
- Provide inputs to manufacturing plans and operation strategy
- Participation in daily, weekly production meetings and focus on resolving manufacturing defects and yield related discrepancies
- Interface with production technician, engineering team and leadership daily
- Develop training materials and mentor technicians on assembly process
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Software engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
- Proven implementation of lean manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing flows, including work station design, automation installation, process flow, etc.
- Solidworks or 3D modeling design experience
- Experience with Crane and Rigging best practices
- Strong electro-mechanical background with an emphasis on large system integration
- Proficient in documenting detailed assembly instructions with 3D models, pictures, diagrams and text
- Geometric design and tolerancing
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety elements, especially related to RF testing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interface with vendors, and customers
- Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
- US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience developing software in a programming language such as Python
- Experience with RF Products, Electromechanical assembly, and test
- Industry 4.0 topics including Model based Engineering, Automation, IoT and Digital Thread
- Aerospace/Defense experience and/or military experience
- Knowledge of Production Systems and Lean Manufacturing elements
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerances
- RF and Power Test
- Understanding of how ERP/MES works in product development and production environments
- Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems elements

Compensation (from employer):
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is: — 140,500 – 161,300 USD — (<em data-stringify-type="italic">As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. </em>)
