Job Responsibilities

This is a full-stack engineer role with a heavy focus on front end. As a key player in our lean, elite engineering team (~ 12 engineers), expect that you will be spending >50% of time coding in this role.

You will:

Be responsible for all of Kaiber’s front end. People think about you as both “the Uber Tech Lead for all of Kaiber’s frontend” and “a truly exceptional IC with deep coding contribution”.

Lead a team of ~5 senior+ engineers through the design, execution, and delivery of the company’s GenAI products.

Build delightful user experience with your taste and skills.

Be a quality gatekeeper, ensuring designs are well conceived, technically sound with few gaps, and solutions are implemented following best practices.

Own the operational health of front end. Ensure that appropriate instrumentation and alerts are in place.

Build for scale and high performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Write high-quality code, fast.

Demonstrated technical leadership, such as being an architect or tech lead for high impact customer facing projects.

9+ years experience in web UI application development; 6+ years of experience in TypeScript, React, CSS, State Management tools, performance optimization, etc.

Deep understanding of modern web applications design architecture, API design, design systems, performance and scale.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in leading engineering teams and proven to make an impact on the team and company level.

Strong UX designer's mindset, with a deep care for the beauty of the product you build. You have an artisan mentality and are always looking to improve your craft. At the same time, you can strike the right balance between idealism and pragmatism.

Significant Node.js experience is a plus.

Distributed system development experience is a big plus.
