In your new role you will:
- Develop new test automation processes with a primary focus on test handlers, contactors, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Create end-of-line automated inspection equipment to ensure efficient and reliable test processes.
- Define Printed Circuit Board (PCB) templates to ensure compatibility of new test solutions with the installed equipment infrastructure.
- Work closely with key product line partners to define new process needs and provide technical expertise in the development of test automation processes.
- Collaborate with semiconductor equipment suppliers to deliver new automation solutions in a timely manner, ensuring alignment with production schedules and technical specifications.
- Engage with semiconductor subcontractors to integrate new test processes into the production environment, ensuring seamless adoption and implementation.
- Contribute to the definition of the test equipment roadmap and strategy, ensuring a comprehensive approach for engaging with a wide range of subcontractors.
- Focus on maintaining portability across subcontractors while optimizing compatibility with internal Infineon (IFX) factories.
- Oversee process development projects, working closely with project managers to ensure alignment with project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Define and maintain standards governing the development and release of new test processes to ensure consistency and compliance with company requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost and yield improvements in the test automation processes and implement plans to realize these improvements.
- Support Product Engineering teams in cost and yield optimization activities, ensuring high-quality output and cost-efficiency.
- Support test outsourcing procurement efforts by analyzing equipment proposals from subcontractors and providing input to help identify the lowest cost solutions.
- Evaluate proposals to ensure that they meet the required specifications, while minimizing costs and ensuring timely delivery.
- Collaborate with the Packaging Engineering team to identify preferred subcontractors to engage with on new product introductions.
- Support Offshore Assembly and Test cost improvement activities, providing guidance on cost-effective strategies for offshore production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of semiconductor test automation processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging best practices related to test automation in semiconductor manufacturing.
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a strong understanding of semiconductor test automation.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a deep focus on test automation and process development.
- Thorough understanding of semiconductor test automation processes, specifically with a strong expertise in test handlers, contactors, and automated visual inspection processes.
- Very good knowledge of test contactor design and contact methodologies, ensuring efficient and reliable connections during testing.
- Good understanding of test cost models and the ability to identify cost-effective solutions in test automation.
- Strong statistical analysis capabilities to assess test performance, identify trends, and optimize test processes.
- Experience with CAD tools and/or Allegro tools for test process design and development is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to troubleshoot and address complex test automation issues.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to drive test process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
- Strong project management skills, including resource allocation, schedule management, and cost control.
