Prime Mover Driver

The Prime Mover Driver is responsible for the safe and timely collection, delivery, and repositioning of containers. The role ensures containers are securely loaded and transported in compliance with all regulatory and company requirements. The driver conducts daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, performs basic vehicle care, and promptly reports any defects. Additional duties include handling port and customs-related collections and supporting operational requirements as assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Manager.

Prime Mover Driver – Key Responsibilities

• Collect, deliver, and reposition containers as required.

• Ensure containers are safely and securely loaded onto the trailer.

• Retrieve shipments from ports and clearance agents, complete customs clearance, and return shipments to distribution centres.

• Comply strictly with all regulatory requirements and company procedures.

• Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, maintain the vehicle, and promptly report any faults to the supervisor.

• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Transport Supervisor or Manager.
